Great Bradfords PTFA
Chairs Report 15/16
The PTFA exists to raise extra funds to help improve the equipment and resources that enhance our children’s education. We aim to hold various events over the school year that bring together pupils, parents, staff, friends and the wider community alike, in support of both schools. Our continued goal is to make our events inclusive and engaging.
This year saw the start of a brand new committee for the PTFA along with some new members joining. Lots of enthusiasm, determination and hard work from everyone has helped with events being so successful.
We have continued developing our support with the local community by participating in the Bocking Blackwater Festival, holding a stall to raise awareness of who we are and what we do. We have continued engaging with the local businesses, including being contacted by stallholders for pitches, assistance with advertising and promotion of events or offers of donations. This has in turn given us a wider reach for our events, enabling us to increase our turnover and reduce our costs.
Over the year we have given £1680 to the schools. This has helped with the purchase of the playpod in the junior school which we intend to help maintain. In the infant school we helped raise money for storyphones. We also gave the infant school a Christmas disco, the year 2’s a leavers disco in the infant school and contributed towards the year 6 yearbooks. This is a great achievement for the new committee.
Our objectives for this year are as follows:
Continue to build on our success
Greater involvement across the PTFA for organising and running events
Encourage more parents/carers to get involved with the PTFA
It is only with the continued support of the whole PTFA team, staff, families and our local community that we will be able to achieve these objectives and build on our successes over the coming year.
