Great Bradfords PTFA
Chairs Report 16/17
The PTFA exists to raise extra funds to help improve the equipment and resources that enhance our children’s education. We aim to hold various events over the school year that bring together pupils, parents, staff, friends and the wider community alike, in support of both schools. Our continued goal is to make our events inclusive and engaging.
This year saw a consolidation of an already established committee building on the links and skills established during the previous year. New members joined who bought ideas, enthusiasm, determination and hard work which helped us have the best profitable year so far.
We have continued engaging with the local businesses, including being contacted by stallholders for pitches, assistance with advertising and promotion of events or offers of donations. This has in turn given us a wider reach for our events, enabling us to increase our turnover and reduce our costs.
Over the year we have given a total of £3000 to the schools. This has helped with the upkeep of the playpod in the junior school. In the infant school we helped raise money for an outside classroom which will help children with their outdoor learning. We also gave the infant school a Christmas disco, the year 2’s a leavers disco in the infant school and contributed towards the year 6 yearbooks at the juniors. This is a great achievement for all of the PTFA members.
Our objectives for this year are as follows:
Continue to build on our success and increase our profit further
Greater involvement across the PTFA for organising and running events
Encourage more parents/carers to get involved with the PTFA
It is only with the continued support of the whole PTFA team, staff, families and our local community that we will be able to achieve these objectives and build on our successes over the coming year.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Head teachers Anita Easton and Fiona Dory for their continued support over the last year. With their help and guidance the PTFA have managed to excel and strive for a better year.
