Our DT project – pop-up books
The girls and boys loved designing and making their own pop-up books about Braintree. They learned three different pop-up techniques: lift the flap, box fold and spring. Well done to the year group winners – Maisie Edwards and Jacob Dyer – who won the best pop-up book in Year 3.
World Book Day
It was great to see all the wonderful costumes to celebrate World Book Day. A lot of effort and imagination went in to each costume. Thank you to all the parents for helping the children look so fabulous.
The children had a great opportunity to read for a couple of hours with children from other classes. They read both independently and in pairs with boys and girls from years 4, 5 and 6. It was lovely to see how focussed they were and how much they enjoyed their books. It was an impressive Readathon!
The children in Year 3 had a very creative day learning how to be a Celt! Not only did they decorate their own sword so that it was unique, they also learned how to weave.
