School Day

Our school day begins at 8:45 a.m. and finishes at 3:15 p.m.   The children have a morning break for fifteen minutes every day, usually from 10:30–10:45am, but, on occasion, this may change due to other events taking place, e.g. assessments or external visitors. Our lunch break is staggered by year group from 11.50 until 13:00. 

Our doors open for the children at 8:35am to enable them to be ready for the start of the day. Please note that children should not arrive before this time as the school is unable to provide supervision. We do, however, offer wraparound care, which includes a Breakfast Club running from 7:30am. This provision is delivered by an external provider: CMXCS. There is a daily assembly, but these vary in nature and timing throughout the week. On Mondays, we begin the week with a whole school assembly, and on Friday afternoons we close the week with our celebration assembly. Other assemblies throughout the week are led by teachers or visitors and are either for the whole school, year group or class.

At the end of the school day, parents/carers can use either of our waiting areas or can arrange to meet their child in an alternative location. In the event of an emergency, the school is happy to look after your child until an adult can collect him/her, as we would not send any child home in the knowledge that there was no-one there. However, this provision is only offered to parents who are faced with exceptional circumstances. This provider also delivers a wide range of after-school clubs too. In addition to this, Great Bradfords also offer a small selection of after-school clubs, such as choir, football and homework club, but please be aware that these do not run all weeks of the school year, and so cannot be relied upon for childcare.
