Farmer Collins visit
Year 6 were visited by Farmer Collins on Tuesday 4th March.
On Tuesday 4th March 2025, local farmer, Mr Chris Collins, came into school to speak to Year 6 about being a farmer. He captivated the pupils with his tales about working on a huge farm in America and driving many different machines, including tractors and combines. He went on to explain why farmers need our help, the recent protests he has been on and what he is doing to diversify the farm. However, the highlight of the morning was when he revealed that he had come on his tractor. Remarks of "It's huge!" and "It's massive!" could be heard as the pupils walked down to see it. This year, the tractor looked a little different as it was decorated with a protest plaque, British flag and air horn, which it showcased on its way home with a rendition of 'The Vengabus is coming."
