Outside Learning

Learning outside the classroom, helps children's physical and mental wellbeing as well as supporting a range of learning styles.  We are very fortunate at GBJS to have such large outside spaces in which the children can learn and embed knowledge in a practical way. Our pond area has been recently renovated and is now the perfect, safe space to explore nature with varied habitats to support our classroom-based science lessons. In addition to that, we are able to offer the children the opportunity to develop their understanding of plants and their importance through our allotment on the field. Children can cultivate and grow a variety of plants to use in their projects. Furthermore, the den building area is a popular new addition, too, and provides children with another opportunity to be creative, work in teams and learn outside the classroom.
